Interstate

Middletown corporation line in Warren County

Project description: 11 miles of pavement rehabilitation
and the addition of one more lane, southbound and northbound,
in the median of I-75. Work includes grading, drainage, and resurfacing
the existing pavement. In addition, 12 mainline and overhead
structures will receive improvements during this project. The
Bethany, Princeton, Milliken, and Kyles Station Road overpasses
in Butler County will get new decks and profiles. The decks on
the Tylersville Road and Hamilton Mason Road overpasses will
be re-sealed and the ramps at Tylersville Road will be repaved.
In addition, noise barrier installation will take place from
the LeSourdsville West Chester Road underpass to the Kyles Station
overpass.
In Warren County, decks
will be replaced on the Greentree and Hendrickson Road overpasses.
Although work is complete on the SR 63 bridge overpass, the SR
63/I-75 interchange will be under construction for a single point
urban interchange (SPUI). The SPUI uses one traffic signal at
the middle of the bridge, controlling all left turn and through
traffic at the interchange. Ramps will be widened and reconfigured
to accommodate the SPUI interchange. SR 63 will also be reconstructed
on both sides of the interchange, from Lawton Avenue to the west,
and to tie in with recent reconstruction to the east. That work
is expected to start in 2009.
Under a separate construction
project by the Butler County Transportation Improvement District
(TID), the new Liberty Interchange will be built in conjunction
with the I-75 widening. This project will expand the interchange
at I-75 and Ohio 129 to include direct access to and from Hamilton
Mason Road. Work will also include widening Hamilton Mason Road
and a northward extension of Cox Road. Construction on this project
is scheduled to be complete in 2010.
Start date: March 2008.
Completion date: June 2011.
Cost: $98 million
Contractor: John R. Jurgensen Co.
