COUNTY ROADS IN GOOD CONDITION

Butler County Engineer Dean C. Foster reports that all roads on the County roadway system are in good shape this morning. Motorists may encounter a few slushy spots, particularly on bridges and overpasses so caution is advised.

BCEO snow and ice control crews began to treat the roads Monday evening at 7:30 as the first flakes of snow began to fall. Crews worked through the night to ensure that roads would be clear by morning rush hour. Approximately 375 tons of salt have been spread on County roads, according to Foster. The salt has worked very well as temperatures have risen steadily since the precipitation first moved into Butler County.

About an inch of snow and freezing rain fell overnight creating mostly sloppy conditions. While roads are not considered hazardous, motorists are encouraged to be extra careful while driving this morning.
