Butler County Engineer Dean C. Foster reports that the BCEO's annual paving program is now under way. Various County and Township roads will be resurfaced throughout the summer and fall months. No closings are expected in conjunction with the paving but motorists may encounter occasional short delays.

Some roads in rural sections of the County will undergo full-width paving in which the asphalt is spread across both lanes simultaneously as opposed to one lane at a time. Traffic is stopped for approximately 10 to 15 minutes while the asphalt is placed and compacted.

Chip-sealed aggregate berms will also be added along all newly paved County roads. The berms will be approximately two feet wide.

The first BCEO paving contract includes resurfacing of the following roads:

    • Allen Road from Cincinnati Dayton Road to Union Centre Boulevard
    • Cox Road from Barret Road to Tylersville Road
    • Hamilton Mason Road from Bypass 4 to Ohio 747
    • Headgates Road from reservoir to Canal Road
    • Tylersville Road from Cincinnati Dayton Road to N&S Railroad
    • Union Centre Drive from Allen Road to new pavement

Other roads scheduled for paving this year include:

    • Contreras Road from the Indiana state line to the Oxford city limits
    • Cotton Run Road from Tolbert Road to Oxford Middletown Road
    • Hankins Road from Mauds Hughes Road to Yankee Road
    • Howe Road from Jacksonburg Road to Wayne Madison Road
    • Kyles Station Road from Ohio 4 to Mauds Hughes Road
    • Layhigh Road from Hamilton New London Road to Ohio 126
    • LeSourdsville West Chester Road from Hamilton Mason Road to Millikin Road
    • Liberty Fairfield Road from Princeton Road to Ohio 4
    • Millikin Road from Ohio 747 to Mauds Hughes Road
    • Morman Road from Stahlheber Road to Ohio 130
    • Trenton Franklin Road from Ohio 4 to the Warren County line

Motorists can check the BCEO's web site for a complete listing of additional road resurfacing projects as well as other construction, outlined by Township on the Keeping Track page.
