ROADS REMAIN CLOSED FOLLOWING HEAVY RAINS AND FLOODING

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens reports that several roads were closed as a result of heavy rains and flash flooding this past weekend. BCEO crews were mobilized to clear mud, gravel, and debris from roads and to place high water signs in numerous locations. Crews have also been busy clearing culverts and bridge piers clogged by tree limbs and debris.

The following roads remain closed as of this morning:

Bauer Road in Milford Township is closed between Hamilton Eaton Road and State Road due to a culvert washout. The road will remain closed indefinitely while BCEO engineers assess the damage and evaluate necessary repairs.

Hamilton Eaton Road in Milford Township is closed between State Road and Somerville Road due to flooding from nearby Seven Mile Creek. BCEO crews expect to reopen the road today (June 16) after mud and debris are cleaned up.

Harris Road in Milford Township is closed between Ohio 177 and U.S. 127 due to a culvert washout. The road will remain closed indefinitely while BCEO engineers assess the damage and evaluate necessary repairs.

Nichols Road in Hanover Township is closed 1.0 mile east of U.S. 27 and 0.3 mile west of Lanes Mill Road due to a culvert washout. The Hanover Township Maintenance Department expects to reopen the road by July 7, 2003.

For updates on these and other closures, please see the Road Closings page here on our web site.
