HAMILTON NEW LONDON ROAD BRIDGE OPENS
Ross Township

The Hamilton New London Road bridge over Indian Creek is open effective this morning, Friday, November 12, 2010 nearly three weeks ahead of schedule, according to Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens. The bridge had been closed for replacement since late July.

Favorable weather and smooth construction are attributed to the early completion date. Officials from the Engineer's Office, Ross Township, and the contractor, Eagle Bridge Company, gathered for a brief ribbon cutting to acknowledge a job well done and reopen Hamilton New London Road which serves as a major artery into the southwestern townships.

The old, narrow pony truss at this location was replaced with a new 154-foot steel plate girder structure at a cost of $1.4 million. Funding for the project consisted of Federal LPA funds and local Butler County money.
