Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that a bridge rehabilitation on South Weaver
Road is scheduled to begin on February 27. The Morgan Township
bridge is a steel pony truss located just north of the Layhigh
Road intersection. Rehabilitation plans call for replacing only
the truss portion of the bridge with another steel pony truss.
The existing substructure is in good condition and does not need
to be replaced.
A construction contract
for the project was awarded to U.S. Bridge of Cambridge, Ohio
which submitted a low bid of $271,008. Funding will consist of
100 percent local BCEO money.
All work is scheduled
for completion by early May 2012, weather permitting.
