Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that improvements are set to get under way
on a portion of Millikin Road in Liberty Township. Crews will
modify the vertical alignment by cutting down a knob between
the north and south legs of LeSourdsville West Chester Road,
improving sight distance for motorists on Millikin and at each
of the intersections.
A construction contract
for the project was awarded to Rack & Ballauer Excavating
Company located in the Ross / Crosby Township area which submitted
a low bid of $187,181. Funding will consist of 100 percent local

and Maintenance of Traffic
Millikin Road will
close between the north and south legs of LeSourdsville West
Chester Road for a roadway improvement beginning Monday, April
16, 2012. The intersections themselves will remain open. Only
the portion of Millikin between the two intersections will be
closed. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week
of June 4, 2012.
During this closure,
local access to the closed portion of Millikin Road will be maintained
for residents living within this section only. All other motorists
and thru traffic will be required to use the posted detour.
Detour: Eastbound Millikin Road traffic
will detour west on Millikin, south on Ohio 747, east on Princeton
Road, north on Yankee Road, to west on Millikin. Westbound traffic
will reverse this route.
