Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that the Rialto Road bridge over Mill Creek
will be replaced beginning July 9. Located in West Chester Township
just south of the West Chester Road / Beckett Road intersection,
the current bridge is a steel pony truss built in 1956. The Engineer's
Office plans to replace the old bridge with a new, safer pre-cast
concrete arch structure.
A construction contract
for the project was awarded to Ford Development Corp. of Cincinnati
which submitted a low bid of $516,085. Funding will consist of
State OPWC grant money and local BCEO matching funds.
All work is scheduled
for completion by mid-October, weather permitting.
