LIBERTY FAIRFIELD ROAD IMPROVEMENT TO RESUME
Road Closing April 1
Liberty / Fairfield Township line

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens reports that work on the Liberty Fairfield Road improvement begun last fall is slated to resume April 1. The project, located between Logsdon's Woods Drive and Princeton Road, involves widening the existing lanes from ten to twelve feet, adding two-foot paved shoulders plus an additional two-foot earth berm, and reconstructing driveways and drainage to accommodate the pavement widening. Additionally, a small bridge has already been replaced as part of the project.

Construction had to be suspended in December with the onset of winter. The remainder of the work is expected to be completed by early May, weather permitting.

Liberty Fairfield Road Closing and Maintenance of Traffic

Liberty Liberty Fairfield Road will close to thru traffic between Logsdon's Woods Drive and Princeton Road beginning Monday, April 1, 2013. Update March 22: The small bridge located between Maple Crest Drive and Weathered Oaks Drive / Stone Creek Drive will be completely closed. During this closure, all thru traffic will be detoured but local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, school buses, and emergency vehicles from either the north or south side of the bridge.

The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week of April 29, 2013.

Detour: Northbound Liberty Fairfield Road traffic will detour east on Hamilton Mason Road, north on Ohio 747, and west on Princeton Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.

Motorists are encouraged to check the Road Closings page here on the BCEO web site as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning this closure.
