Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that improvements will get under way next
week on a portion of Hamilton Mason Road in Fairfield Township.
The project consists of widening approximately 1,400 feet of
the road in order to add left turn lanes onto both the north
and south legs of Morris Road, which are offset from each other.
Some drainage improvements will also be made.
A construction contract
has been awarded to the Rack & Ballauer Excavating Company
located in the Ross / Crosby Township area which submitted a
low bid of $348,991. Funding will consist of 100 percent local

and Maintenance of Traffic
Hamilton Mason Road
will close between the north and south legs of Morris Road for
the roadway improvement beginning Monday, July 15, 2013. The
intersections themselves will remain open. Only the portion of
Hamilton Mason between the two Morris Road intersections will
be closed. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week
of October 14, 2013.
During this closure,
local access to the closed portion of Hamilton Mason Road will
be maintained for residents living within this section only.
All other motorists and thru traffic will be required to use
the posted detour.
Detour: Eastbound Hamilton Mason Road
traffic will detour north on Bypass 4, east on Princeton Road,
and south on Liberty Fairfield Road. Westbound traffic will reverse
