IMPROVEMENTS SLATED FOR HAMILTON MASON AT MORRIS ROAD
Road Closing July 15
Fairfield Township

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens reports that improvements will get under way next week on a portion of Hamilton Mason Road in Fairfield Township. The project consists of widening approximately 1,400 feet of the road in order to add left turn lanes onto both the north and south legs of Morris Road, which are offset from each other. Some drainage improvements will also be made.

A construction contract has been awarded to the Rack & Ballauer Excavating Company located in the Ross / Crosby Township area which submitted a low bid of $348,991. Funding will consist of 100 percent local BCEO money.

All work is scheduled for completion by mid-October, weather permitting.

Road Closing and Maintenance of Traffic

Hamilton Mason Road will close between the north and south legs of Morris Road for the roadway improvement beginning Monday, July 15, 2013. The intersections themselves will remain open. Only the portion of Hamilton Mason between the two Morris Road intersections will be closed. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week of October 14, 2013.

During this closure, local access to the closed portion of Hamilton Mason Road will be maintained for residents living within this section only. All other motorists and thru traffic will be required to use the posted detour.

Detour: Eastbound Hamilton Mason Road traffic will detour north on Bypass 4, east on Princeton Road, and south on Liberty Fairfield Road. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.

Note to local motorists and commuters: Nearby Tylersville Road will reopen east of Seward Road by July 12.

Motorists are encouraged to check the Road Closings page here on the BCEO web site as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning this closure.
