Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that construction will begin August 12th
on an intersection improvement at Tylersville Road and Grace
Meadows Way. The project is intended to address sight distance
issues and ease turning movements into and out of Grace Meadows.
Specifically, the project
involves adjusting the profile on the east leg of Tylersville
to fill in a dip, widening Tylersville to the east and west plus
adding two-foot paved shoulders, and constructing a new left
turn lane on eastbound Tylersville for Grace Meadows Way. A culvert
will also be replaced as part of the project.
"We continue to
make improvements to Tylersville Road, once a rural carriage
path across rolling terrain, now a major east-west artery through
bustling West Chester Township," said Wilkens. "The
addition of subdivisions, schools, commercial, and retail development
along its ten mile length in Butler County makes it imperative
that we continue our program of safety and capacity upgrades.
This particular project will facilitate safer traffic flow along
Tylersville and through the intersection."
A construction contract
was awarded to Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. of Cincinnati which
submitted a low bid of $478,996. Funding will consist of 100
percent local BCEO money.
All work is scheduled
for completion by mid-October, weather permitting.
