Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that the Frazee Road bridge over Williams
Run will be replaced beginning August 12, 2013. Located in northern
Milford Township, the current bridge is a single-span concrete
slab built in 1920. The Engineer's Office plans to replace the
old bridge with a new, safer pre-stressed concrete box beam structure.
A construction contract
for the project will be awarded to DDK Construction, Inc. of
Cincinnati which submitted a low bid of $393,330. Funding consists
of State OPWC grant money and local BCEO matching funds.
All work is scheduled
for completion by late October, weather permitting.
and Maintenance of Traffic
Frazee Road will close
ten feet northeast of the Baker Road intersection and 0.5 mile
west of U.S. 127 for the bridge replacement beginning Monday,
August 12, 2013. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen
the week of October 28, 2013.
During this closure,
local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and
emergency vehicles from either side of the bridge, depending
upon one's location, but motorists will not be permitted to pass
through the construction zone and detours will be posted for
all thru traffic.
Detour: Eastbound Frazee Road traffic
will detour southeast on Baker Road, east on Somerville Road,
and north on U.S. 127. Westbound traffic will reverse this route.
