Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that the Hart Road bridge just north of
Ohio 129 will be replaced beginning Monday, April 6, 2015. The
existing bridge is a single span cast-in-place concrete slab
built in 1938. The Engineer's Office plans to replace the old
bridge with a new pre-cast concrete box structure.
A construction contract
for the project has been awarded to W.G. Stang, LLC, of Hamilton
which submitted a low bid of $361,756. Funding consists of State
OPWC grant money and local BCEO matching funds.
All work is scheduled
for completion by late July, weather permitting.
and Maintenance of Traffic
Hart Road will close
500 feet north of Ohio 129 (Hamilton Scipio Road) and 0.9 mile
south of Dunwoody Road for the bridge replacement beginning Monday,
April 6, 2015. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the
week of July 27, 2015.
During this closure,
local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and
emergency vehicles from either side of the bridge, depending
upon one's location, but motorists will not be permitted to pass
through the construction zone and detours will be posted for
all thru traffic.
Detour: Northbound Hart Road traffic
will detour east on Ohio 129, north on Ohio 732, and west on
Dunwoody Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
