YANKEE ROAD IMPROVEMENT TO START EARLY JUNE
Liberty Township

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens reports that improvements are slated to begin along Yankee Road at Devon Drive and Mother Teresa School beginning Monday, June 6, 2016. The project involves widening approximately 1,400 feet of the road to provide left turn lanes at the Devon Drive / Mother Teresa Lane intersection. Storm sewers, pavement markings, and signage will also be upgraded.

A construction contract has been awarded to the John R. Jurgensen Company of Cincinnati which submitted a low bid of $294,627. Funding for the project will be through a local assessment.

Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-August, weather permitting.

Maintenance of Traffic

All work will be performed under traffic. There will be no road closures during this project; however, occasional lane closures may cause delays. Flaggers will be present to facilitate movement of traffic during these periods but motorists may want to consider alternate routes.

Motorists are encouraged to check the Road Closings / Traffic Advisories page here on the BCEO web site as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning this project.
