Butler County Engineer
Greg Wilkens reports that rehabilitation of the North Dwyer Road
bridge over Dry Fork Creek will begin on August 29. Located in
Morgan Township near the Indiana state line, the bridge is a
precast concrete slab built in 1982. Plans call for replacement
of the existing superstructure with a concrete deck and updated
A construction contract
for the project has been awarded to Ford Development Corporation
of Cincinnati which submitted a low bid of $289,071. Funding
will consist of 100 percent local BCEO funds.
All work is scheduled
for completion by mid-October, weather permitting.
and Maintenance of Traffic
North Dwyer Road will
close 0.1 mile north of Sparks Road at the Indiana state line
and 0.5 mile south of Ohio 126 for the bridge rehabilitation
beginning August 29, 2016. The road is tentatively scheduled
to reopen the week of October 10, 2016.
During this closure,
local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and
emergency vehicles from either side of the bridge, depending
upon one's location, but motorists will not be permitted to pass
through the construction zone and detours will be posted for
all thru traffic.
Detour: Northbound North Dwyer Road
traffic will detour west on Sparks Road in Indiana, north on
Drewersburg Road, east on Dickson Road, southeast on Indiana
252 into Ohio, continuing southeast on Ohio 126 to North Dwyer.
Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
