LANES MILL ROAD BRIDGE OVER FOUR MILE CREEK TO BE REPLACED
Road Closing February 18
Milford Township

Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens reports that the Lanes Mill Road bridge over Four Mile Creek in Milford Township will be replaced beginning February 18. The existing bridge is a three-span concrete box beam structure built in 1916. The Engineer's Office plans to replace it with a new, safer single-span pre-stressed concrete i-beam bridge.

A construction contract for the project has been awarded to the John R. Jergensen Company of Cincinnati which submitted a low bid of $2,114,000. Funding consists of federal grant money and local BCEO matching funds.

All work is scheduled for completion by early August, weather permitting.

Road Closing and Maintenance of Traffic

Lanes Mill Road will close 0.7 mile north of Nichols Road and five feet south of Wallace Road for the bridge replacement beginning Monday, February 18, 2019. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week of August 5, 2019.

During this closure, local access will be maintained for residents, businesses, and emergency vehicles from each side of the bridge. Motorists will not be permitted to pass through the actual construction zone and detours will be posted for all thru traffic.

Detour: Northbound Lanes Mill Road traffic will detour east on Nichols Road, north on Ohio 177, and west on Shollenbarger Road to Lanes Mill. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.

Motorists are encouraged to check the Road Closings page here on the BCEO web site as the best source for possible date and status changes concerning this closure.
