BCEO EMPLOYEE RECEIVES PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER'S LICENSE

An employee of the Butler County Engineer's Office has earned his Professional Engineer's (P.E.) license, Butler County Engineer Greg Wilkens announced today:

Matthew A. Brubaker, P.E., Design Engineer - Matt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2014. A BCEO employee since 2015, he is primarily responsible for roadway design.

To obtain a Professional Engineer's license in the State of Ohio, one must have graduated from an approved curriculum in engineering of at least four years in a recognized school or college, have at least four years of practical experience in the engineering field, and then pass a rigorous 16 hours of testing.

"We're proud to have Matt on staff," Wilkens said. "One of my objectives when I became County Engineer was to fully develop our personnel with more efficient use of in-house talent. His accomplishments will benefit the County by allowing us to maintain quality design work while saving costs on outsourcing." This brings the total number of licensed Professional Engineers to eight at the BCEO.

To hold the position of County Engineer in Ohio, the officeholder must have a dual registration - Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Professional Surveyor (P.S.) - as stated in the Ohio Revised Code.
