ELK CREEK ROAD EMERGENCY SLIP REPAIR BEGINS
Madison Township

The Butler County Engineer's Office reports that construction to repair the Elk Creek Road slip will begin Monday, September 28, 2020. On March 20, 2020, Elk Creek Road was closed 1.4 miles north of Howe Road and 1.4 miles south of S.R. 122 due to high water and a failed embankment slope on the east side of the road. A $553,202 contract has been awarded to W.E. Smith Construction, which will perform the remediation of the embankment using a drilled shaft retaining wall.

Elk Creek Road will remain closed during the emergency slip repair project, and motorists will continue using the same detour. The road is tentatively scheduled to reopen the week of November 16, 2020.

Detour: Northbound Elk Creek Road traffic will detour east on Howe Road, northeast on Trenton Franklin Road, and west on S.R. 122. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.
