MILLIKIN ROAD / I-75 OVERPASS DAMAGED
Posted With 20 Ton Load Limit

Butler County Engineer Dean C. Foster reports that the Millikin Road bridge over Interstate 75 in Liberty Township has been posted with a 20 ton load limit.

The bridge was restricted after being damaged yesterday by an unknown over height load in the southbound lane. The rear beam suffered damage and misalignment, several crossframe welds were broken, and the bottom flange was cracked.

Engineers have determined the bridge to be safe for passenger cars and other light vehicles; however, heavier trucks should be kept off the bridge until repairs are made.

The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to repair the bridge later this year, at which time the load restriction will probably be lifted.
