UPDATE: NS HAS CHANGED THE SCHEDULE TO BEGIN HAMILTON EATON RD WORK ON MONDAY, JULY 15.

The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports that Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS) will close Hamilton Eaton Road at the tracks east of U.S. 127 to tamp through the crossing and repave the approaches beginning Monday, July 15, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. The roads will be closed to all through traffic and are tentatively scheduled to reopen on July 16 at 5:00 p.m.

Detour: Northbound Hamilton Eaton Road traffic will detour west on Harris Road, north on U.S. 127, and east on Oxford Middletown Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.

Motorists are encouraged to check the BCEO website, as well as Facebook and X @bceonews, for possible date and status changes concerning this and other closures/advisories.
