Milford Township

The Butler County Engineer’s Office reports that Norfolk Southern Railroad (NS) will close Mound Street to all through traffic at the tracks east of U.S. 127 and west of Hamilton Eaton Road at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17, 2024, to tamp through the crossing and repave the approaches.

Mound Street will reopen by 5:00 p.m. on both days as a safety precaution for the residents with no outlet on the west side of the crossing. Those residents must park their vehicles on the east side of the crossing if they wish to use them at any time during the closure. For additional safety, the BCEO has advised NS to have supplies and equipment on-site to fill the crossing in the event of a medical emergency.
